Each cell counts the general election questions that name both candidates, with the date its newest fieldwork ended. A dash and "None in our feed" mean no question in our feed names that pair, which is not proof that nobody has asked it. Counts are questions, not polls: one poll often asks several. Republican candidates run across the top; select a cell to see its questions.

Every question, pairing by pairing

Each pairing lists every general election question that names both candidates, newest first, with area, fieldwork, pollster, sample and the whole line-up as published.

Note on Tarrance Group: In the New York Times data we use for Senate polls, nearly all of this firm's polls are marked partisan, meaning a party or campaign sponsored them. The 2028 feed carries no such mark, so no row is marked here. Read the Source link to see who commissioned the poll before you rely on it.

When this page changes

Since 20 May 2026, 28 questions have named a Democrat and a Republican. 9 of these questions ended fieldwork in the last 30 days. The newest ended on 14 Oct 2026 (YouGov). New questions arrive when a pollster publishes one, in bursts, so long gaps are normal; this page shows the feed as of 27 Oct 2026.

All 2028 primary polling averages, what changed and the latest polls.

How to read this page

These are hypothetical general election questions: the pairs are chosen by pollsters, nobody has been nominated, and a candidate appearing here says nothing about whether they will run.

A matchup on this page is not a primary preference, not a favourability rating and not a betting price. Primary polling averages and market prices are on the 2028 primary page, each kept apart from this one.

A vote share is not a chance of winning, and neither is a market price. A poll is never subtracted from, added to or averaged with another to invent a matchup, and no row is read as a lead.

This page publishes no win probability, no electoral college projection and no state forecast for 2028.

Our poll feed is the New York Times polling database, with pollster grades from FiveThirtyEight. It does not include every poll, so a pairing marked "None in our feed" may still have been asked about by a pollster the feed does not cover.

The 2028 poll feed does not say who sponsored a poll, so this page cannot mark partisan sponsors. Follow each row's Source link to read who commissioned it before you rely on it.

Results are printed exactly as the pollster published them, in the order published; answers such as "Don't know" are shown in small type and are never dropped or re-based.

The method is on the 2028 methodology page. Candidate pages: Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom and the two side by side.
